More than 116,000 household assessments have been completed under Jamaica’s Restoration of Owner or Occupant Family Shelters (ROOFS) programme.
Acting Permanent Secretary in the Labour and Social Security Ministry, Dione Jennings, provided the update.
She was speaking at a meeting of the Public Administration and Appropriations Committee (PAAC) this morning.
She outlined that around 81,000 households have received benefits under the programme, while approximately 54,000 cases are at various stages of the verification process.
Ms. Jennings also pointed to ongoing connectivity and system disruptions, which have affected processing and contributed to delays in finalising outstanding cases.
