Montego Bay Chamber of Commerce expresses satisfaction with level of public and private sector infrastructure investment underway in St. James
The Montego Bay Chamber of Commerce is expressing satisfaction with the level of public and private sector infrastructure investment underway in the second city, and the wider parish of St. James.
Re-elected President of the Chamber, Jason Russell noted that Montego Bay was being stifled by lack of infrastructure.
However, he said the city is now going through what he termed ‘a big boom’.
He pointed to hotel constructions and the Government’s Western Water Resilience Project as examples of the infrastructure developments underway.
Mr. Russell added that the completion of the Montego Bay Perimeter Road Project and the phased reopening of the Cornwall Regional Hospital will further boost the city’s physical structure.
He was speaking at the Chamber’s annual general meeting at the Western Jamaica Campus of the University of the West Indies (UWI).
