Chairperson of the Commonwealth Caribbean Association of Integrity Commissions and Anti-Corruption Bodies (CCAICACB), A. Anande Trotman-Joseph is warning that geopolitical and geo-economic shocks may create an atmosphere of fear and anxiety – a perfect backdrop for corruption in the absence of peace.
She made the remarks at the opening ceremony for the 12th annual conference of the CCAICACB held in Kingston this morning.
The regional network which comprises 11 Commonwealth nations is collaborating on regional anti-corruption strategies, legal frameworks and transparency initiatives.
She added that the type of public corruption targeted by the anti-corruption entities is usually systematic.
