JFJ calls on Police High Command to state what action will be taken against other officers in Latoya Bulgin incident
Human rights lobby group, Jamaicans for Justice has called on the Police High Command to state what action will be taken against other officers involved in the incident regarding Latoya Bulgin in St. James.
This after one officer was charged with murder.
Police Constable Andrew Wilson was charged yesterday following a ruling from the Director of Public Prosecutions.
JFJ Executive Director, Mickel Jackson noted the short time between incident and charge pointing out that it demonstrates the importance of video evidence.
She said she hopes the trial will progress in a timely manner as well.
How Bulgin’s body was treated by the cops after she was shot has raised public condemnation with many citing the lack of dignity even in death.
Ms. Jackson said the High Command must indicate what penalty will be laid against the other officers who did not follow due process.
