Opposition calls on Justice Minister to withdraw comments that Jamaica does not have a human rights problem

Opposition Spokesperson on Justice, Zulieka Jess is calling on Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, Delroy Chuck to withdraw comments claiming that Jamaica does not have a human rights problem.
Mr. Chuck made the remarks while making his contribution to the Sectoral Debate in Parliament on Wednesday.
He said Jamaica has an Office of the Public Defender, where human rights breaches can be reported.
Speaking at the Santa Cruz Bypass main replacement project in St. Elizabeth, yesterday, Jess who is also MP for St. Elizabeth north eastern said Chuck’s comments on the matter represents an ‘alarming display of delusional’.
This as many Jamaicans have lost their relatives under questionable circumstances during alleged armed conflicts with the police.
