Over 1000 NWC customers in Santa Cruz, St. Elizabeth to benefit from improved supply, following implementation of Santa Cruz Bypass Main Replacement Project
Over 1000 National Water Commission customers in Santa Cruz, St. Elizabeth are set to benefit from improved supply, following implementation of the Santa Cruz Bypass Main Replacement Project.
Minister of Water Matthew Samuda, noted that the project marks the latest phase of the broader Santa Cruz water supply improvement programme.
Speaking at the ground breaking ceremony yesterday, Mr. Samuda said the project will replace the three-inch cast iron pipeline installed over 50 years ago, with a durable six-inch ductile iron pipeline.
Samuda noted that in addition to Santa Cruz, customers in adjoining communities including New River, Brighton, Friendship Street and Doctor Rock, will also benefit.
The project is scheduled to be completed in November.
