Three women are to face the courts soon to answer to charges relating to an embezzlement scheme at a food store along Constant Spring Road in St. Andrew.

The accused are 46-year-old Nickeisha Evans of Darley Crescent, St. Andrew; 39-year-old Tanese Wade of Mount Friendship, Mount James, also in St. Andrew and 35-year-old Joedi Kay Harrison of Dunoon Road, Kingston 2.

Reports from the Constant Spring police are that the owner of the food store detected discrepancies in the business’s cash records and initiated an internal investigation.

The probe revealed that Harrison, who was employed as a cashier supervisor, allegedly conspired with Wade and Evans to steal cash, amounting to over one point $8 million.

Further investigations revealed that the three accused allegedly processed refunds for customer purchases without any refund requests being made by the customers.

They then reportedly removed the refunded cash from the cash register for their own benefit.

The matter was reported to the police, and the accused were taken into custody and formally charged.

Their court dates are being arranged.
