St. Ann Municipal Corporation reports 76 shelters deemed ready in the event of a hurricane this year

The St. Ann Municipal Corporation is reporting that 76 shelters have been deemed ready in the event of a hurricane this year.

Chairman of the Corporation, Mayor Michael Belnavis, gave the update during a hurricane preparedness press conference.

Mayor Belnavis said the Corporation is in the process of recruiting more shelter managers.

He added that a management team has been established to coordinate shelter operations.

He said storage facilities have been equipped with essential emergency items, while additional comfort supplies are being sourced.
