The authorities have again sought to clarify that no Third-Country National is being housed in St. Mary.

It states that the proposed plan has not been operationalized, the JCF is also urging persons to desist from making threats or engaging in actions that target any individual or property in connection with the matter.

The police state that threats, intimidation, and damage to property are criminal offences and will be dealt with accordingly.

Citizens are encouraged to seek information from official sources and to address concerns through lawful and peaceful means.

The statement from the police follows one from National Security Minister Dr. Horace Chang on the weekend. He labelled recent reports that TCNS will be housed in St. Mary as false and misleading.

Dr. Chang reiterated that the Government has not approved the transfer of any Third-Country National to any location in Jamaica at this time.

He noted that there will be no transfer until the required operational procedures are finalized.
