Dr. Chang appeals to Jamaicans not to target St. Mary AirBnB owner as he reiterates that no property has been identified to house TCNs
Minister of National Security and Peace, Dr. Horace Chang, is appealing to Jamaicans not to target a St. Mary Airbnb owner, whose business has been affected after her property was wrongly identified as the location to house Third Country Nationals (TCNs).
Dr. Chang says the reports have caused significant harm to the retired Jamaican public servant whose business has suffered booking cancellations and financial losses in addition to emotional stress.
He is urging members of the public not to target the property, its staff or visitors.
Dr. Chang said he has asked the police to closely monitor the situation and urged citizens to remain rational in their response to the matter.
The minister also reiterated that the Government has not approved the transfer of any Third Country Nationals to any location in Jamaica at this time.
He stated that there will be no transfer until the required operational procedures are finalized.
Meanwhile, the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) is appealing to the public to rely only on verified information regarding the agreement with the United States.
