Mayor of Kingston Andrew Swaby says the first phase of the drainage-cleaning project, which will include 9 divisions will cost $23 million.
Yesterday, the Mayor along with members of the Kingston and St. Andrew Municipal Corporation visited critical drains and gullies along the coastline.
Mayor Swaby said 27 drains will be cleaned in the first phase of the project.
He said poor waste management is costing the city a lot of money to clean drains and gullies.
