A call is being made for more psycho-social support to be provided to persons, especially children, who reside in communities impacted by violence.
Member of Parliament for South West St. Andrew, Dr. Angela Brown Burke, raised the matter at a People’s National Party Women’s Conference at the St. Elizabeth Technical High School today.
She pointed out that continued exposure to violence-related activities in the community affects the health of the home and, later, the health of the society.
She stressed that more emphasis should be placed on addressing this.
