Agriculture Minister Floyd Green says Caribbean Week of Agriculture represents an opportunity for region to shape its own future
Agriculture Minister Floyd Green says the Caribbean Week of Agriculture (CWA) represents an opportunity for the region to shape its own future in the sector.
He stressed that building food systems that are modern is key in achieving this goal.
Mr. Green was speaking at CWA’s launch at the summit in Kingston yesterday.
CWA will be held from September 27 to October 2 in Jamaica under the theme ‘The New FACE of Caribbean Food Systems’.
FACE represents food security, agri-business, climate-smart technologies, and export expansion
The event will bring together farmers and youth, entrepreneurs, innovators, policymakers, partners, and other stakeholders.
Mr. Green said the theme underscores the way in which agriculture should be positioned in the region.
The Minister said CWA must be a platform for action not just talk.
