Face-to-face classes at St. Elizabeth Technical High School (STETHS) are expected to resume today, after altercations among students forced classes online last week.

IRIE FM News understands that about three separate incidents were reported at the institution involving approximately 12 students last Wednesday.

As a result, classes were held online on Thursday and Friday.

The Education Ministry’s Region Five Director, Susan Nelson-Smith, told IRIE FM News that four children were treated at hospital for injuries.

She said school will resume today, but meetings with parents will continue.

Mrs. Nelson-Smith said she will be at the school today along with other representatives from the Ministry.

She noted that psychosocial support will also be provided to students and staff who witnessed and had to intervene in the incidents.

In the meantime, Mrs. Nelson-Smith noted that a special board meeting will take place this week to determine the appropriate actions for the students involved.
