The Agriculture Ministry is reporting an increase in convictions for praedial larceny.
Last year 145 persons were convicted up from the 18 in 2024.
The update was given by Portfolio Minister Floyd Green during his contribution to the Sectoral Debate in Parliament yesterday.
Mr. Green noted that works to curb farm theft have been bolstered by the assigning of police officers to the Agricultural Protection Branch.
He said in 2025 the police made over 600 arrests for praedial larceny offences.
