Bomb threats temporarily disrupted operations at Spanish Town Hospital and Police Station last last night

Normal operations have resumed at the Spanish Town Hospital following a bomb threat late last night.

Enhanced security measures are now in place.

The threat was reported approximately 11:49 p.m.

Emergency personnel including firefighters responded and conducted searches at the hospital compound.

Staff members were instructed to evacuate the premises while the search was executed.

No explosive device or suspicious items were found.

According to reports, some medical staff remained on site to continue procedures for patients who were already undergoing surgery at the time of the threat.

And police report that at around the same time another bomb threat was reported at the Spanish Town Police Station.

Precautionary measures were implemented.

Authorities have not released further details about the source of the threats.

Investigations are ongoing.
