Culture Minister, Olivia Grange says this year’s Emancipation and Independence celebrations will focus on Jamaica’s resilience as the nation continues to recover from Hurricane Melissa.
The celebrations, marking Jamaica’s 64th year of independence will be held under the theme “United in Celebrating Resilience.”
Ms. Grange made the announcement during the National Emancipation and Independence Thanksgiving Service this morning.
She said the weeks ahead will provide countless opportunities for Jamaicans at home and abroad to celebrate the nation’s culture while displaying national pride
