Lawmen must remain focused and maintain public’s trust to record further reductions in crime – Dr. McKenzie, Strategic Operations Portfolio

Assistant Commissioner of Police at the Strategic Operations Portfolio, Dr Gary McKenzie, says the police must remain focused and maintain the public’s trust if it is to record further reductions in crime.
He was speaking on the Constabulary’s Force 4 Good podcast.
As at Saturday, May 16, 199 people were murdered in comparison to 262 in the same period last year.
While commenting on the Constabulary’s work, Dr. McKenzie said that the reduction cannot be sustained if the police do not have the public on their side.
He noted that the Constabulary must also remain strategic and technologically advanced.
