Major works to commence on sections of Burnt Savannah roadway in St. Elizabeth – NWA’s Stephen Shaw

Major works will commence on sections of the Burnt Savannah roadway in St. Elizabeth in short order.
This was disclosed by the National Works Agency’s Communication and Customer Services manager, Stephen Shaw.
Yesterday, residents and taxi operators blocked a section of the Lacovia main road near the Burnt Savannah intersection to protest against the condition of the road.
Speaking with IRIE FM News, Mr. Shaw says these roadways were impacted by the passage of Hurricane Melissa last October.
He is urging residents to be patient as the agency works through the finances to commence the repairs.
Mr. Shaw notes that a complete assessment of the roads will be conducted to ensure appropriate repairs are made.
