Man listed as POI in relation to death of woman in St James now in police custody
The man listed as a person of interest in relation to the murder of a woman in St. James last month is now in custody.
31 year old Dane Anthony Watson was being sought for questioning about the death of 42 year old Melissa Kerry Sammoth, of New York, United States of America.
Police said Watson voluntarily turned himself in to the St. Mary police, yesterday.
Reports are that on Tuesday, April 29, Ms. Sammoth, was taken to the Cornwall Regional Hospital in St. James.
She had been suffering from multiple injuries and was later pronounced dead.
Further reports are that the St. Mary police received information that Watson was willing to surrender to the authorities but feared for his safety.
Following coordination between the police and the family, Watson was safely escorted to the Gayle police station, where he was formally handed over to investigators, without incident.
