The Meteorological Service of Jamaica is warning that strong winds associated with a low-level jet stream could result in some infrastructural damage heading into the weekend.

A statement from the Met Service says the low-level jet stream is across the Central Caribbean.

It has been producing very strong winds across Jamaica since yesterday.

The strongest impacts from these winds are expected across southern parishes and offshore marine areas.

The Met Service says these strong winds are expected to continue across Jamaica and its territorial waters through to Saturday.

Fishers and other marine interests especially inshore and offshore the south coast are advised to exercise extreme caution.

This as sea conditions are expected to remain unfavourable due to very strong winds through to Saturday.

The Met Service says it will continue to monitor this weather feature.
