Two motorcyclists died in separate crashes in Westmoreland yesterday.
The deceased are 18-year-old Sinardo Whitelocke from Logwood District, Whithorn and an unidentified man.
Lawmen say the latest incident occurred at around 11:30 p.m. last night.
According to the police, Whitelocke and a pillion were travelling aboard a motorcycle along the Petersfield Main Road.
On reaching a section of the roadway, a cow walked into the path of the motorcycle.
Whitelocke and the pillion were taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The pillion reportedly suffered a broken leg and is undergoing treatment at hospital.
In the other incident, lawmen say at around 4:00 a.m. yesterday, two motorcycles were being driven along the Bay Road Main Road when they crashed.
The injured persons were taken to hospital where the unidentified man, who was a pillion aboard one of the motorcycles, was pronounced dead.
103 persons have died on the nation’s roads since January in comparison to 146 in the similar period last year.
