Sections of Heywood Hall and Whitehall, St. Mary among flooded communities due to heavy rains
Heavy rains associated with a trough across the island have caused flooding in some St. Mary communities.
Rosend, Heywood Hall and Whitehall are among the affected areas.
The Heywood Hall Fording was impassable up to this morning, leaving many residents marooned.
Resident Ezron Antonio Francis, told Irie FM News that his house is flooded and he has been left stranded.
Mr. Francis said due to the flooded Fording, he is unable to access another section of the community as well as the adjoining district of Whitehall.
He is calling for the authorities to construct a bridge in the area.
Meanwhile, Manager of Communication at the National Works Agency (NWA) Stephen Shaw noted that he is aware of flooding in sections of St. Mary.
He is urging persons to be cautious.
