Jamaica recorded 288 murders up to Friday, July 10.
That’s 80 fewer than the 368 recorded in the corresponding period last year.
According to the Jamaica Constabulary Force, St. James had the highest murders with 37 followed by St. Andrew South with 25
Portland had the lowest with 3.
Cases of rape, robberies and break-ins also declined.
Rape cases went down by 12, robberies by 95 and break-ins by 63.
