Toast Wednesdays, keeping Ocho Rios party scene alive

The party scene in the otherwise sleepy, resort town of Ocho Rios, has gotten a revamp.

Toast Wednesdays is defined as the must-go mid-week entertainment in the garden parish.

Toast Wednesday Brand Manager Nia Souden said in a statement that the revamped series is ‘once again’ creating a buzz in the town and is now better than before.

In 2020, organisers hit pause due to the global COVID-19 pandemic.

‘We have reclaimed our place as one of the top go-to spots for locals and visitors in Ocho Rios. And we employ some of the hottest DJs in the industry who keep our patrons dancing to different genres,’ Souden added.

To strike a balance between the pulsating club scene and authentic Caribbean party, Souden noted that Toast Wednesdays is completely celebratory, where partygoers can ‘toast to’ the small and big wins and milestones in their lives.

Toast Wednesdays takes place every Wednesday at the new Omnia Sky Lounge, a rooftop space at 4 DaCosta Drive in Ocho Rios, between the hours of 9 pm and 2 am, and is a weekly themed affair.

‘Each week, partygoers can expect a different vibe but the same top-notch entertainment,’ she added.

Organisers have collaborated with JUTA and JCAL tour drivers to shuttle patrons to and from hotels.

Souden also commented that the event has been well attended during its heyday, with attendance by entertainers like Nigy Boy, Bounty Killa, Popcaan, Stefflon Don, Rvssian, international actor Michael Ward, and more.

At $1500 for entry, patrons can enter the entertainment playground and women are free before midnight with RSVP.

Partygoers can book their tables online, according to Souden, a feature that she believes offers a more exclusive experience.
