The Agriculture ministry intends to develop and distribute a tomato based juice as part of the nutritional offerings to school children.
Portfolio minister Floyd Green said his ministry and the education ministry are collaborating with an agro-processor to develop the product.
Speaking at a recent event in St. James, Green noted that the tomato juice is part of initiatives to use up a surplus supply of the fruit.
He also acknowledged the possibility of aversion to the juice but stressed the importance of valuing nutrition over preference.
