Jamaicans in the Middle East are being urged to shelter in place.
This as the area has become tense amid ongoing strike action reportedly by forces from the United States of America and Israel, against Iran.
Counter strikes have occurred in neighbouring Dubai, Doha, Bahrain and Kuwait.
In a statement today, Foreign Affairs Minister Kamina Johnson Smith noted that the government is monitoring the military hostilities in the middle east.
Johnson Smith said while it’s hoped that the situation will be resolved, the government has advised Jamaicans in the Middle East to exercise vigilance and to shelter in place as conditions may require.
Jamaicans are also advised to avoid travel to the region.
