Some public transport operators along with residents in St. James have blocked the Hampton and Barnett Bush road to demonstrate their frustration, over the road conditions.
The protesters used old cars and debris to block the roadway.
Member of parliament for South St. James, Nickeisha Burchell, told IRIE FM News that the road has gotten worse since the passage of Hurricane Melissa last October.
Ms. Burchell noted that she has been communicating with the National Works Agency, and the Minister of Works to determine how to resolve the problem.
She explained that the Hampton road is not the responsibility of the NWA, but the St. James Municipal Corporation.
