The Government is taking steps to curb abuse of the system of adverse possession.
Prime Minister Dr. Andrew Holness has tasked Minister responsible for Land Titling and Settlements, Robert Montague to look into the issue.
Speaking today at a title handing over ceremony in Manchester, Dr. Holness noted that this type of informal settlement is problematic.
He said the minister must ensure that Government land is not depleted.
