Thousands of NWC customers remain without water due to islandwide power outage

Yesterday’s islandwide black out impacted several National Water Commission facilities, resulting in about 65,000 customers still being without the commodity.
Water minister Matthew Samuda said while all but one of the commission’s facilities are now operating, it will take some time for water supply to be restored to customers.
This as it may take about 24 hours for pipelines, as well as treatment and storage facilities, to be back filled.
The only facility that remains out is Minard in St. Ann and it’s expected to be restored by this evening.
The minister added that there are challenges with facilities in several other parishes.
