Mayor of Montego Bay Richard Vernon says wage increases alone will not secure the nation’s future.
He says efforts must also include productivity gains, innovation and equitable access to opportunity.
The mayor made the remark at the annual floral tribute in honour of National Hero Samuel Sharpe, this morning.
He also called for sweeping protections for Jamaican workers and greater access for local entrepreneurs to the country’s tourism industry.
