JLP mourns loss of former Councillor for the Denham Town Division, Lorna Joy Leslie

Former Councillor for the Denham Town Division in Kingston, Lorna Joy Leslie, has died.

She passed away this morning, after battling an illness.

Jamaica Labour Party Deputy Leader and Member of Parliament for West Kingston, Desmond McKenzie, said Ms. Leslie was the longest serving JLP Councillor in the Kingston and St. Andrew Municipal Corporation.

She succeeded him as councillor for the Denham Town Division in 1980.

Mr. McKenzie described her as a stalwart who served the Jamaican people with distinction until her retirement in 2011.
