A freak storm impacted sections of Westmoreland yesterday.
Reports indicate that the weather event affected the Mannings High School, blowing down tents and power lines in the process.
A statement online attributed to the Principal said the incident impacted electricity at the institution, as the mangled tents were lodged in the power lines.
No injury was reported.
Mayor of Savanna-la-Mar Danree Delancy told IRIE FM News that the tents were being used as temporary classrooms following the passage of Hurricane Melissa last year.
In the meantime, he said preparations continue for this hurricane season.
