The Tourism Product Development Company (TPDCo) wants to collaborate with operators of non-traditional tourism experiences to develop standards to enhance the overall visitor experience.
In an interview with Irie FM News, Executive Director of TPDCo Wade Mars said the agency is seeking to enhance offerings that go beyond traditional goods and services.
He pointed to locally organised experiences where visitors are taught Jamaican dance styles before being taken to popular street dance events.
According to Mr. Mars, strengthening these non-traditional tourism products through collaboration can further expand the economic benefits of tourism beyond traditional attractions.
