Justice Minister Delroy Chuck has indicated that the fight against gun crimes cannot be won by any single institution acting alone.

He noted that it requires, among other things, collaboration from multiple players in the justice sector.

The Minister was addressing a firearms identification and classification training workshop for legal personnel at the Institute of Science and Legal Medicine in St. Andrew.

Mr. Chuck noted that the issue requires a collaborative response from multiple stakeholders, such as the judiciary, the police and the Department of Correctional Services.

He said this collaboration is key to enhancing the justice sector’s successful handling of gun cases.

Mr. Chuck said the administration of justice must be underpinned by competence and consistency.
