Transport Minister says binding concession agreement negotiated by previous PNP administration in relation to toll rates, does not augur well for Jamaicans

Transport Minister Daryl Vaz has noted that the binding concession agreement negotiated by previous People’s National Party administration, in relation to toll rates, does not augur well for Jamaicans.
As such, the present Jamaica Labour Party led government continues dialogue with toll operators in a bid to get more favourable agreements.
Vaz was reacting to concern from the motoring public following today’s publication of a notice to vary the toll rates.
The Minister chastised the previous PNP administration for entering into an agreement that binds current and future governments to unhelpful terms, similar to what was done with the Jamaica Public Service (JPS).
