West Kingston MP Desmond Mckenzie doing well, following pepper spray incident in Downtown Kingston
The Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) says Member of Parliament for West Kingston, Desmond Mckenzie is doing well, following a pepper spray incident in Downtown Kingston this morning.
In a statement, the JLP says Mr. Mckenzie was expected to do a precautionary medical consultation today.
According to the JLP, Mr. Mckenzie was affected by pepper spray that was used by a member of the security forces during a dispute involving the member of the security forces and one of Mr. Mckenzie’s constituents.
It says he is actively carrying out his duties as member of parliament and minister of government.
The party says Mr. Mckenzie is grateful for the expressions of support and remains focused on fostering harmonious relations between residents of his constituency and law enforcement.
