A multi-faceted strategy implemented by the St. Andrew South Police has resulted in a 144 per cent clear-up rate for murders so far this year.
According to Commander for the division, Senior Superintendent (SSP) Damion Manderson, this success is not accidental, but the result of an approach where operations, community safety teams, and administrative personnel work together.
He was speaking on the police’s Force4Good Podcast yesterday.
SSP Manderson explained that he also sits in case reviews, adding that this offers support to police investigators.
He said the strategy also involves the police winning the confidence and trust of residents through constant engagement.
