Guardsman Group says an employee who was injured in a fire at the company’s garage compound on May 27 has died.

The company gave the update in a statement this afternoon.

The employee was one of three individuals who sustained critical burn injuries.

They were airlifted to the U.S. for treatment at a leading burn care facility.

Guardsman reported earlier that an external contractor performing work within the garage facility died in May.

The Guardsman statement says since the worker’s admission, he received continuous medical attention from a highly experienced team specializing in the treatment of severe burns.

It adds that despite the tireless efforts of the medical professionals and the unwavering support of his loved ones, his injuries proved too severe.

Guardsman says it extends its deepest condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues during this incredibly difficult time.

The company says it continues to provide support to the family and remains committed to assisting them as best as possible.

Executive Chairman of Guardsman Group, Kenneth Benjamin, reflected on the profound impact of the loss describing it as a heart-breaking day for the entire Guardsman family.
