Police are investigating whether or not two men fatally shot during a confrontation with the police yesterday in Spanish Town, St. Catherine, were linked to the shooting of a pump attendant on Deanery Road, Kingston, earlier in the day.

The police say they returned fire in defence of their lives.
When the shooting subsided, two men were found suffering from gunshot wounds with a 9 millimetre pistol found nearby.
