The Child Protection and Family Services Agency (CPFSA) has warned against the practice of parents leaving their older children to take care of their younger siblings, in instances where both are minors.
According to the Agency’s Chief Executive Officer, Laurette Adams-Thomas, some parents opt for this method of care for their children, during the summer holidays.
This as parents still have to work during the period.
Mrs Adams-Thomas said regardless of age, all children in the household can be exploited by predators who are extremely manipulative.
She is urging parents to desist from leaving children unsupervised.
