Dr Chang says criticism that undermines JCF is dangerous & wrong

The National Security Minister has stated that any “verandah talk” criticism that serves to undermine the police force is dangerous, wrong and will not be allowed to go on.

Dr. Horace Chang made the comments while making his contribution to the sectoral debate in the lower house today.

The minister described calls for independent review of the force as foolish, because several oversight bodies already exist.

Dr. Chang noted that oftentimes these calls put police officers at risk.

He suggested that persons making the calls should face similar situations as the cops.  

The minister said the incidents in which some officers are prosecuted cannot be used to condemn all of them.
