Finance and Public Service Minister Fayval Williams says business continuity must be the priority of all public sector entities
Finance and Public Service Minister Fayval Williams says business continuity must be the priority of all public sector entities.
She made the statement at the Government of Jamaica (GOJ) Service Excellence Conference this morning.
According to Mrs. Williams, this is the capability of an organisation to maintain or quickly resume essential functions at acceptable levels during and after a disruption.
She said with the recent setbacks caused by Hurricane Melissa and global shocks such as the COVID-19 pandemic, public sector leaders must build systems that can perform under pressure.
The Conference is being held under the theme ‘Building Resilient Public Services’.
It represents a focused, policy-aligned intervention under the Government’s service excellence programme, designed to strengthen the capacity of ministries, departments and agencies to deliver consistent, high-quality public services in both stable and crisis conditions.
