The government has allocated $1b towards a health infrastructure maintenance fund.
Health minister Dr. Christopher Tufton said the fund represents a shift toward sustainable management of infrastructure, to ensure that hospitals and health centres remain fully operational and capable of delivering quality care.
He was making his contribution to the sectoral debate in the lower house today.
Dr. Tufton also warned service providers about meeting standards and contractual obligations for maintenance work.
