She was minutes away from dying, but 18-year-old burn victim Alecia King is here today and is very grateful to everyone who had a hand in saving her life.

“They literally fixed my whole body,” King said on Tuesday evening as she thanked everyone, including the Sanmerna Foundation.

The young woman, who was set ablaze after being doused with gasolene while asleep on August 24, received treatment in the United States and recently returned to the island.

She was 17 years old at the time. Since the incident, the police have been seeking her ex-boyfriend, Antwone Grey, otherwise known as ‘Badfowl’ and ‘Bright’, who they identified as the suspect.

He is known to frequent the John’s Road and Tawes Pen areas of Spanish Town, St Catherine. The law enforcement officers have tried repeatedly to locate him, however, their efforts have proven futile.

“We have information that he is getting the protection of immediate family and community members,” Lindsay disclosed, as she called on everyone to come together to get help for King.
