Importers, consignees, and customs brokers have until April 30, to clear their cargo at the Montego Bay Port Warehouse facilities in St. James.
This, as the Jamaica Customs Agency implements measures to address ongoing congestion caused by a significant accumulation of cargo that has remained uncollected for extended periods.
The Agency’s Senior Public Relations Officer, Nikel Innerarity, says the backlog has constrained the port’s capacity to process incoming shipments efficiently.
He notes that the situation continues to impact the wider trading community.
