The Jamaica Beach Birthright Environmental Movement (JaBBEM) says the case involving claimed prescriptive rights to access Mammee Bay beach in St. Ann has been postponed until November 6.

JaBBEM President, Dr. Devon Taylor, disclosed that the matter, which was scheduled to come before the St. Ann Parish Court yesterday, was rescheduled.

The case is one of several legal actions being pursued by the environmental advocacy group in relation to public access to beaches.

The group is also before the courts in matters concerning access to Little Dunn’s River in Ocho Rios and customary rights to the Blue Lagoon in Portland.

While noting the postponement of the Mammee Bay case, Dr. Taylor laments what he describes as delays in the delivery of justice.
