The Jamaica Civil Service Association (JCSA) has described the outcome of yesterday’s meeting with the management of the National Works Agency as a victory for workers.
The meeting follows reports of unrest among staff members who have become frustrated with the delay in resolving several long-standing issues.
These issues relate to, among other things, salary anomalies, non-alignment of technical officers, non-payment of eligible allowances, and uncertainty about job security.
JCSA President Techa Clarke-Griffiths said the parties were able to reach agreements on most of the matters during yesterday’s meeting.
She said discussions will continue.
