Jamaica-born Mayor of Lauderhill, Florida, in the United States Denise Grant recently visited several residents in Christiana, Manchester who were affected by Hurricane Melissa and benefited from donations from her office.
Sections of Jamaica including Manchester were ravaged by the category 5 hurricane in October 2025.
Following the catastrophic event, the City of Lauderhill donated relief items and cash for the reconstruction of houses.
On Friday, Ms. Grant, who was born in Christiana, visited her home town and met with some of the beneficiaries.
