Infrastructural improvement works will be carried out along Seaview Drive in Lucea Hanover, this week, starting tomorrow.
This as the National Works Agency, NWA will be undertaking drain cleaning and patching works in the township.
Seaview Drive is the corridor that connects Lucea to the main road leading to Montego-Bay in St. James.
The road which is close to the Lucea seawall has been a source of discomfort to motorists, due to base failures.
NWA’s Communication Manager Stephen Shaw, said given the high traffic volume along this important corridor, teams will be executing the work at nights.
Beginning at 9:00 p.m. on Monday, the road section will be closed intermittently as the patching activities are being undertaken.
The works form part of a $54 million initiative to improve the driving experience of motorists using several corridors in Hanover.
Mr. Shaw added that critical drain cleaning work is to be done in Lucea and that the agency has sought the assistance of the National Water Commission (NWC) to undertake this effort.
The drain cleaning works are slated to be done between August 15 and 16.
Motorists are being advised to obey posted warning signs and the instructions of flag persons.
